There are people who trivialize the need to be prepared for situations in which our way of life may be threatened.
However, these risks exist, as we saw a few years ago during the 2020 pandemic and as we have also seen in Spain during the national blackout of April 28, in which the country was left without electricity and in some cases even without running water, or last year's floods in southeastern Spain, in which entire neighborhoods were left for days without electricity or water, suffering the actions of looters and without any kind of help. In a civilized country these situations are exceptional, but in certain cases they may cease to be so, especially when we have people in charge who seem to care very little about the common good.
There are certain precautions we can take to deal with disasters and emergencies in our homes. It's about equipping ourselves with the necessary items for our survival without waiting for that situation to arrive. This Monday, the channel Aventuras Entresierras (to which I recommend you subscribe) published an interesting video addressing this issue and offering a guide of everything you need (the video is in Spanish, you can activate automatic English subtitles in the bottom bar of the player):
My personal advisor on preparedness has told me that Aventuras Entresierras has forgotten the cookies... Without belittling such a delicious delicacy, I think it would be good to add candles and matches, which turned out to be very useful during the Spanish blackout.
