The migratory invasion suffered by Ceuta on July 30, 2026, whose effects persist, is not a unique case in the European Union.
In 2021, a few months before the start of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, Belarus, an ally of Russia, launched a migrant invasion against Poland, and on a smaller scale against Lithuania and Latvia. The objective was to destabilize three NATO countries amid preparations for the invasion of Ukraine, and the method used was to transport tens of thousands of migrants from the Middle East to Belarus and direct them toward the Polish border.
Poland's response to this migratory invasion was very different from that adopted by Pedro Sánchez's government, which, after taking a week's vacation following a superficial resolution of the problem, has today published a royal decree to house thousands of immigrants in Ceuta for months, consolidating the invasion instead of expelling the invaders. From the very beginning of the migratory invasion originating in Belarus and clearly orchestrated by the Kremlin, the conservative Polish government of Mateusz Morawiecki adopted measures aimed at curbing and discouraging the invasion:
These are the measures one would expect from a government that takes the defense of its borders seriously in the face of a migratory invasion like the one suffered by Poland. Instead, in the case of Ceuta, Pedro Sánchez has decided to praise the invading country, Morocco, passing the buck to the residents of that Spanish city, while he went on vacation. Shameful behavior.
