On May 18 we saw here some formidable images of the Swift Response phase of the multinational exercise Defender 23.
These images showed JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller) operators from Spain and the United States directing A-10C Thunderbolt II attack aircraft of the United States Air Force (USAF) in a CAS (close air support) exercise. Yesterday, The DVIDS website of the US Armed Forces published a photo taken on May 16 that shows one of the most spectacular selfies in which the Spanish military have appeared, with an A-10C doing a low-low flight height.
The photo was taken at the "San Gregorio" National Training Center (CENAD) in Zaragoza. The plane is one of the five A-10Cs of the 303rd Fighter Squadron of the USAF that arrived in Spain a month ago to participate in this exercise. The photo shows operators from the 2nd and 4th Air Support Operations Squadron of the USAF and the Parachute Sapper Squadron (EZAPAC) of the Spanish Air Force. A photo to frame and a great memory of this exercise.
