In Spain, the Civil Guard has a unit made up of the best mountain rescue professionals: the Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (GREIM), which has made its history saving lives where others have never been. would dare to come. One of the places where GREIM usually performs is the Aragonese Pyrenees.

Precisely in that area is Cerler (Huesca), a municipality in the Benasque valley located at 1,540 meters of altitude. It is a common area for paragliding, and these days that area has been chosen for the Dercetius exercise of the "San Marcial" Division of the Spanish Army.

This exercise has the participation of NH-90 helicopters of the III Maneuver Helicopter Battalion (BHELMA III) of the Airmobile Forces of the Army (FAMET), the Flag of the Legion's Special Operations (BOEL, on these lines) and the "Galicia" Infantry Regiment No. 64 of Mountain Hunters, which is based in Jaca. During this exercise, these units are trained in mountain flying, helicarriment, insertion and extraction of operational equipment, fast rope and rappelling.

The Spanish Army has communicated, during this exercise an unexpected event occurred: < em>"A real emergency situation put their preparation to the test: A paraglider suffered a spectacular accident. Given the inaccessibility of the area, the action of our forces deployed there was requested.".

Thus, this time the GREIM had formidable reinforcements, made up of soldiers from the aforementioned units of the Army. From here I wish the injured person a speedy recovery and I convey my congratulations to his rescuers.
