One of the biggest political scams that has occurred in our current democracy is what some call "moderate nationalism."
Some pacts always aimed at degrading national unity
The Socialist Party (PSOE) and the Popular Party (PP), as well as their related media, have thus described some separatist parties to whitewash their pacts with them, presenting them as formations with a sense of State as they are willing to reach agreements with national parties. Agreements that have always been aimed at degrading national unity, transferring more and more state powers to the regions, subtracting space from the Spanish language and using schools for separatist indoctrination.
The PNV and its racist and anti-Spanish founder
Although they feigned more or less moderation, those parties have always had hatred of Spain as their flag and have always had as their ultimate goal the destruction of the unity of our country. The Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) is a clear example of this. It is a party that was founded by the racist Sabino Arana, whose hatred of Spain was purely sick and went to the extreme of considering the inhabitants of other Spanish regions to be inferior beings.
These racist statements are usually hidden by Basque separatism, but the PNV continues to claim Sabino Arana, after whom streets and it even has a monument in Bilbao. In fact, the PNV headquarters is called "Sabin Etxea" (House of Sabino), because it is located on the site occupied by the former home of its founder.
The PNV launches an anti-Spanish manifesto attacking the Armed Forces
The PNV's hatred of Spain has once again been evident this week. Three ships of the Spanish Navy have arrived at the port of Getxo (the aircraft carrier "Juan Carlos I", the amphibious assault ship "Galicia" and the frigate "Blas de Lezo"). As has already happened other times, many Basques have stood in long lines to visit those ships, because despite so many years of separatist indoctrination, in that region there are still many good people who love Spain.
The presence of these Spanish ships in a part of Spain is normal, but the PNV of Getxo has become angry, publishing a pamphlet in which he displays his hatred of Spain and our Navy, which they accuse of "warlike boasts" and of doing "harm."
The PNV adds: "At EAJ-PNV we oppose this type of act that seeks to normalize national assimilation, imposing certain Spanish nationalist symbols on a plural Basque society that, as we say, sees their identity has been partially denied." A statement that provokes laughter coming from a party that imposed on all Basques a flag invented by its founder, the so-called "ikurriña".
They use public institutions to fuel hatred of Spain
The PNV is a party that uses public institutions, supported by all taxpayers, to promote hatred of the Nation and to insult the Armed Forces, it is a party that should not be legal in any democratic country. Article 6 of the Spanish Constitution itself requires that the creation and operation of political parties are free "within respect for the Constitution and the law", and it can hardly be admitted that parties that hate Spain have even the slightest hint of respect for the Constitution which "is based on the indissoluble unity of the Spanish Nation", as its Article 2 points out.
The PSOE and the PP have been agreeing and protecting the PNV for years
We must remember that the PSOE and the PP not only insist on reaching an agreement with the Hispanophobes of the PNV, but also protect them. Proof of this was what happened four years ago, when Vox presented a proposal to present the separatist parties, because they do not respect Spain or constitutional values. So, the PP abstained and the PSOE voted against. If parties like the PNV continue to promote hatred of Spain and its Armed Forces from public institutions, it is because the PSOE and the PP allow it.
