Two weeks ago we saw here the aircraft of the Air Service (SAER) of the Civil Guard of Spain, which operates helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.
Yesterday, the YouTube channel Fly By Wire Aviation, which I recommend you subscribe to if you are interested in aeronautical topics, published a video showing the most modern aircraft of the SAER Airplanes Group, a Beechcraft Super King Air 350i, the DT.05-01 (10224, serial number FL-755), with number 09-601. In the video, recorded in the SAER hangar at the Torrejón de Ardoz Air Base in Madrid, we can see this aircraft inside and out:
As the Civil Guard is a military police force, its aircraft use the same registration codes as the Air Force. In this case, the registration DT.05-01 indicates that it is a maritime surveillance aircraft (letter D) and also a transport aircraft (T). This Super King Air arrived in Spain with the US civil registration N21EN in November 2020. It was co-financed by the European Union Internal Security Fund.
According to Flightaware.com, this aircraft was built in 2011, passing through several hands before being acquired by the Civil Guard. It is equipped with two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-60A turboprop engines with a power of 1050 horsepower, being able to reach a maximum speed of 578 km/h and a flight ceiling of 10,668 meters (35,000 feet), with a range of 3,345 kilometers.
This Super King Air has two crew members (pilot and co-pilot) and a systems operator, who is responsible for controlling the FLIR camera, surface search radar, and electronic surveillance equipment from a console located on the port side of the fuselage. The aircraft has capacity for four more people. It should be noted that the National Police Force has a very similar aircraft to this one, a Beechcraft B200 King Air, the EC-GBB, used for transport purposes.
