Sánchez's cabinet did not report on the meeting held in New York

The Spanish Navy has become the center of international public attention today due to a highly controversial government decision.

Sánchez uses the Navy to create smokescreens: one embezzlement to cover up another
Spain and the Red Sea coalition: Sánchez's lurches and Iran's strings

The announcement of the deployment of the ship 'Furor' to support the Sumud Flotilla

Yesterday, the president of the government announced the dispatch of a Spanish Navy ship to protect the Sumud Global Flotilla, "in case it was necessary to assist the flotilla or carry out any type of rescue". The ship sent is the maritime action vessel (BAM) "Furor" P-46, an offshore patrol vessel launched on September 8, 2017, and belonging to the Navy's Maritime Action Force (FAM). The announcement is clearly a new smokescreen to cover up the corruption scandals affecting the government, a distraction launched, in fact, hours before it was learned that Sánchez's wife, Begoña Gómez, will be tried by a jury for an alleged crime of embezzlement.

The government's campaign against Israel has intensified alongside news of these corruption scandals. It's worth asking to what extent the Spanish government is coordinating this action with other governments, and not just those of European Union member states. It is compromising the international prestige of our Navy and the image of Spain, and it's only fair to know who they have been able to discuss this issue with in order to make such a decision.

The meeting between the foreign ministers of Iran and Spain in New York, revealed by Iran this Wednesday morning (Photo: Iranian Embassy in Spain)).

Before that announcement there was a meeting between the Spanish government and Iran

Coincidentally, yesterday morning the Iranian Embassy in Spain reported about a meeting between Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares and Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian regime's Foreign Minister, a meeting held "within the framework of his visit to New York to participate in the session of the United Nations General Assembly". This meeting was also reported by the website of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, showing a photo of the meeting. On YouTube, Iran Monitor broadcast this short, silent video of the meeting on September 23, so the meeting could have taken place on Tuesday:

"During the meeting, both ministers reviewed the state of bilateral relations and agreed on the importance of boosting ties in areas of mutual interest," the Iranian embassy said, adding: "They also discussed various issues on the regional and international agenda. In particular, they exchanged views on the grave humanitarian situation in occupied Palestine, stressing the urgency of the international community taking immediate measures to end the blockade of Gaza, stop the genocide, and ensure respect for human rights and the Palestinian people's right to self-determination."

It is a paradox that a Spanish minister has agreed to debate human rights with a minister of a dictatorship that systematically violates those rights. Let us remember that until a month ago, and as part of the wave of repression against the protests calling for democracy that took place in the country, the Iranian dictatorship had already carried out more than 840 executions. To this we must add a fact that is known worldwide: Iran supports Vladimir Putin's dictatorship in its war against Ukraine (it has done so by selling Russia numerous Shahed drones, which are being used to attack Ukrainian cities) and it has also been financing and providing weapons to Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists in Gaza and Lebanon, respectively.

The Iranian minister praised the Spanish government for its stance against Israel

The Iranian embassy added: "Minister Araghchi acknowledged Spain's leading role in denouncing the genocide and violations of international law in Gaza. He also stressed the shared responsibility of all States, in accordance with international law and humanitarian and ethical principles, to hold accountable those responsible for crimes and those who threaten international peace and security." Apparently, applause from Hamas terrorists wasn't enough: now Sánchez is also receiving praise from the Iranian dictatorship. A disgrace for Spain.

Significantly, that meeting with Iran has not been revealed by the Spanish government through any means. In Spain, almost no media outlet has reported on that meeting. It's as if it never took place, or as if it were of no newsworthy interest for the Spanish government to meet with an Islamist dictatorship hostile to Israel hours before announcing a new provocation against the Jewish State. A provocation that, moreover, compromises our Navy, forced to send a ship to protect a flotilla that intends to enter a combat zone, ignoring all warnings from the Israeli government.
