In his campaign to glorify that bloodthirsty dictator, Hinkle posted a message today calling Khamenei a "hero" (above). It has already garnered over 3,000 likes, demonstrating the far left's willingness to swallow all sorts of nonsense.

Hinkle's positions are not unusual on the far left. Many communists have demonstrated their willingness to endorse anything that bears the stamp of hatred toward the West, the United States, and Israel, and they possess considerable inertia acquired during the Cold War, when Moscow was the epicenter of anti-Western propaganda, as it is again today. The Islamist dictatorship in Iran is an ally of Russia, and that is why much of the far left remains completely silent about the atrocities committed by the Tehran regime.
