The Armalite AR-15 assault rifle, introduced in 1959, was the origin of a wide range of derivative weapons that are still used today.
Among the variants of the AR-15 there are two very famous weapons: the M-16 assault rifle and the M-4 carbine, which for decades have equipped the United States military forces. Two weeks ago, Matt Rittman published an excellent video in which, in great detail and with a surprising quality of computer graphics, shows how an M-4 carbine works:
You can see some screenshots of this video here. As you can see, it is a M-4A1 carbine with a carrying handle and the classic handguard, instead of the already famous RIS handguard with Picatinny rails that the US Army has popularized.
The video is a true gem, and explains in great detail the internal mechanisms of the weapon.
An image showingthe entry of a 5.56mm bullet into the chamber of the M-4. Pay attention to the lighting of the image and the brightness of the bullet. The author of this is a retailer.
A curiosity of the video, which explains how the aiming point is adjusted using a bullet.
