The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgi Meloni, participated yesterday in a Vox public event in Valencia through a live video.
During her speech, which she delivered in Spanish, Meloni addressed Santiago Abascal and the members and supporters of Vox, a partner party of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group (ECR), of which she is also a member of the party of the Italian prime minister, Fratelli d'Italia: "There are ten days left for a decisive date for the future of your history, ten days for the patriots to reach the government of Spain. For It is crucial for all of us that on July 23 a conservative patriotic alternative is established, in which Vox plays a leading and decisive role in the formation of the new national government."
Meloni added: "The time of patriots has come. In Italy, as in Finland, Sweden, Poland and the Czech Republic, we have shown that patriots can govern and contribute to increasing the prosperity of their people, and I am also convinced that the result of July 23 can contribute to marking a change in the direction of European politics, because I am also fully aware of how the victory of Fratelli d'Italia and the Italian center right, with the birth of the government that I have the honor of presiding over has been seen as a sign of hope for all European conservatives."
The Italian prime minister also recalled what some said before she took office: "during our election campaign in Italy the left and the mainstream media were trying to scare the voters: yes fratelli win, we will have an internationally isolated Italy, they said.In these eight months I have met dozens of heads of government and have participated in many international summits, always carrying the voice of my Nation, a strong and credible voice more and more listened to. We have strengthened Italy in NATO thanks to our support for the Ukrainian people, we have achieved important results in the European Council, we are developing an ambitious plan for Africa and for energy supply in the Mediterranean, and we are preparing for 2024, when Italy will hold the presidency of the G7. Not bad for someone who was going to bring Italy to isolation, don't you think?"
Curiously, many large Spanish media have silenced this discourse. Since they silence it, you can listen to it here in full (the video is in Spanish, you can activate the automatic subtitles in English in the bottom bar of the player):
