Pedro Sánchez shows his lack of respect for democratic principles

An immoral politician who finds it acceptable to refuse to condemn ETA terrorism

Yesterday, the victims of ETA terrorism suffered a new humiliation at the hands of Pedro Sánchez's leftist government.

This new humiliation was captured in a photo of shame in which Pedro Sánchez appears shaking the hand of Mercedes Aizpurúa, spokesperson for EH Bildu in La Moncloa. It is the image that heads this article. Here you can see its protagonists in more detail (click on the image to see it enlarged):

It was the first time Bildu was invited to La Moncloa Palace, the residence of the Spanish Prime Minister. This far-left separatist party, which displays a clear hatred for Spain and its Armed Forces, was invited to speak with Sánchez about national defense. It's as absurd as inviting a Nazi party to speak about the fight against antisemitism.

This invitation was part of a round of consultations between Sánchez and all parliamentary groups except one. Displaying a clearly anti-democratic attitude, Sánchez excluded Vox from this round of meetings. The Prime Minister did not explain why, but it's easy to guess: Vox is the only party in Congress that disagrees with the so-called progressive consensus, a consensus that encompasses issues such as support for abortion, gender ideology, mass immigration, and climate catastrophism. Regardless of what one thinks about it, Vox is the third most voted party in Spain and is a democratic party that condemns terrorism and does not support dictatorships.

The latter is something that cannot be said of some of the far-left partners of Pedro Sánchez's government. Let us remember, without going any further, that the Communist Party of Spain (to which Vice President Yolanda Díaz and Minister Sira Rego belong) supports dictatorships like Cuba, Venezuela, Communist China and even North Korea.

On the other hand, EH Bildu has never condemned ETA's terrorist attacks. It has not condemned any of the 853 murders perpetrated by that criminal gang, not even the murders of 22 children and babies. In 2023 EH Bildu also refused to condemn the Hamas terrorist attack against Israel, which resulted in the largest massacre suffered by the Jewish people since the Holocaust. On the other hand, Bildu has been rejecting condemnations of separatist attacks against political rivals, thereby demonstrating that it is not a democratic party.

However, Sánchez invites Bildu to Moncloa but not Vox. In this way, the socialist leader once again demonstrates his deep sectarianism and moral emptiness, and makes it clear that for him, refusing to condemn terrorism is acceptable if you are left-wing, but being right-wing seems unacceptable, unless you say you are and at the same time show submission to the dogmas of the left, as the Popular Party does. With this, Sánchez demonstrates that he has as little respect for democratic principles as his Bildu allies.
