There are political movements that are easily recognizable because they are always on the side of criminals and enemies of freedom.
Today we received the good news of the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to María Corina Machado, leader of the democratic forces of Venezuela, "for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy."
This award to Machado is great news for Venezuelan democrats, who have been fighting for years for freedom in their country from the socialist dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro. Of course, the far left has not been slow to spew its hatred against the award winner: the communist Pablo Iglesias has called her a coup plotter and has compared her to Hitler, Manu Pineda (of the Communist Party of Spain) has called her "fascist", Podemos MEP Isa Serra has described her as "a Zionist who supports a genocidal maniac", and Podemos Secretary General Ione Belarra commented on the news stating: "The Nobel Peace Prize is now being awarded to coup plotters and war criminals".
This is nothing new. The Spanish far left has been openly supporting the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro, a usurper who has been clinging to power for years through electoral fraud and brutal repression against Venezuela's democrats. Let us remember that it is the same far left that refused to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine nor the Hamas terrorist attack against Israel, and then falsely accuses the Jewish State of "genocide" after having suffered the worst anti-Semitic massacre since the Holocaust. It is the same far left that refused to call the massacres of Christians and Yazidis by ISIS terrorists "genocide" and that in 2021 refused to condemn the crimes of communism.
No matter what issue we're talking about, you'll always see the far left on the dark side of history, protecting and supporting tyrants and criminals, attacking and slandering democratic countries, and targeting and attacking all democrats who don't share their views. They are the enemies of freedom, democracy, and the West, and they always demonstrate this with a perverse consistency that leads them to always side with the worst scum of humanity.
The Spanish socialists deserve special mention. Six hours after learning of Machado's Nobel Peace Prize, Pedro Sánchez has yet to congratulate her, a predictable silence considering that in 2024 his party, the PSOE, voted against demanding that dictator Maduro end repression in Venezuela and voted against a resolution in the European Parliament recognizing Edmundo González as the legitimate winner of the elections. in Venezuela and claimed that María Corina Machado was the "leader of the democratic forces in Venezuela, given that she was elected in the primaries of the Unitary Platform in 2023 with 92.35% of the votes."
In this sense, the Nobel Peace Prize to Machado is a direct slap in the face to the foreign policy of the government of socialists and communists that Sánchez leads, a foreign policy that prioritizes dealings with dictatorships such as China, Cuba and Venezuela and that is leaving Spain's international image in tatters.
