A comment on the new feature film starring Harrison Ford

'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny': is it worth watching the fifth film in this saga?

This week a new installment of the adventures of Indiana Jones has been released, again starring Harrison Ford.

I am not going to give you any details about the plot of the film, whose main character is already the venerable age of 80 years old. I have to confess that, being a movie buff, it's been a while since he went to the movies. I used to go weekly, but there has come a time when I have come to think that films are falling so low and that they are receiving such doses of "woke" ideology that it is better to save the money that a ticket costs. If I've changed my mind about this movie, it's because I've been following the Indiana Jones movies since he was a kid , and I wanted to see this new installment on the big screen.

In this film we see Indiana again as a young man, thanks to advances in technology. I thought the trick would be very noticeable but it is not noticeable at all. It is amazing what they are achieving with computing. As for the story, this time the adventure revolves around a fascinating object that I told you about in 2010 (if you don't want to reveal this detail, just don't click the link). Obviously, the movie takes a lot of licence, but like old movies, it's a great opportunity to get kids and young people interested in history, which was one of my favorite subjects in high school. school and that is still one of my hobbies today.

I think this movie will especially appeal to fans of ancient history, and I do not give more details. It has really spectacular scenes and I found it very entertaining. I am reviewing, in short, the ingredients that have always fascinated me in this saga. Fortunately, I don't have to complain about any additions. Lucasfilm and director James Mangold have been prudent to leave out wokisms, I suppose already chastened from successive box-office flops in films that had shoehorned them in. Although it is not the best film in the saga, I think it is worth seeing it and, personally, I recommend it. I leave you here with the trailer:
