On July 15, 2004, Contando Estrelas began its already long journey on the web, a path that has not been easy, but that is still exciting.
Not many blogs reach this age, and I can say that Contando Estrelas has reached this point, moreover, without having lost the freedom and independence with which it began its first steps. This website has not received a single subsidy, institutional advertising or public aid -whether direct or indirect- of any kind. He has not received them or requested them at any time. It is something that, sadly, very few media outlets can say today, and it is the reason why no one dictates what I have to publish here, an independence of which I feel very proud.
In all this time this site has had an audience that I did not imagine when it started. In total, more than 20,000 posts have already been published on the blog and more than 105,000 comments from readers. Since September 2007, when I installed Google Analytics, it has accumulated 56 million visits and 75 million page views.
Of course, this site wouldn't be the same without its readers. During this time it has been visited by 36 million users from many countries. In the 16 years that the blog's Google Analytics account has been running, most visits came from Spain (25 million), Mexico (1.99 million), United States (1.68 million), Argentina (1.55 million), Colombia (866,000), Chile > (863,000), Peru (655,000), Venezuela (304,000), United Kingdom (274,000) and Ecuador (261,000).
These 19 years have been possible thanks to the constant support of my family, Isaac's technical assistance and the support and attention of those of you who read this blog and share its contents, the subscribers to his newsletters and his followers. on social networks. And above all, by the help of God and the intercession of Saint John Paul II, to whom I owe to put some good sense into this guy who writes to you, who is a disaster. I hope we continue reading and counting stars together for many more years.
I do not want to stop quoting, like other years, my favorite verses:
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.(J.R.R. Tolkien)
And I end with this video that I published last year, which captures the raison d'être of this blog:
