A new attack by Pedro Sánchez's government on freedom of speech

The socialist tolerance with terrorists and its intolerance with conservatives

The Spanish socialists seem determined to end the fundamental rights of their conservative ideological rivals.

An international conservative summit in the Spanish Senate

This Monday, the Spanish Senate is hosting the 6th Transatlantic Summit for Freedom and the Culture of Life, an event organized by the Political Network for Values and attended by conservative politicians from three continents, including the Spanish party Vox, which is represented in both chambers of the Spanish Parliament. The event addresses "the defense of human rights, especially those related to the protection of life, family and fundamental freedoms".

The PSOE denies freedom of expression to those who attend this meeting

In a clear show of contempt for freedom of expression, the socialist Pilar Alegría, Minister of Education and spokesperson for the government of Pedro Sánchez, has published a message criticizing the holding of this conservative meeting: "The Senate belongs to everyone. It cannot accommodate those who spread speeches against human rights and constitutional values. It is not a summit. These are not values. Involutionary speeches, those of the ultras, have no place in institutions. And the PP should not give them shelter."

The PSOE said nothing about an event that justified Hamas in Congress

Let us remember that in June, the PSOE and its communist allies from Sumar, who control the Bureau of the Lower House of the Spanish Parliament, authorized an event in Congress in which several speakers justified Hamas terrorists, referring to the attack carried out by that criminal organization against Israel on October 7, 2023, which ended up being the largest massacre suffered by the Jewish people since the Holocaust. The PSOE did not issue any kind of criticism of these messages justifying terrorists.

Sánchez's government authorized a march by a terrorist group in Madrid

Similarly, in January, the Sánchez government authorized a march in Madrid called by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a group classified as terrorist by the European Union and which also promotes anti-Semitism. As with the pro-Hamas event in June, the PSOE did not issue any criticism against this march, which was attended by a communist minister of the Sánchez government, Sira Rego.

Socialists give free rein to those who praise terrorists

Likewise, on Sunday, October 6, the Sánchez government authorized a march by Masar Badil, an extremist group that supported the Hamas massacre against Israel on October 7, 2023, calling horrendous crimes against men, women, children and babies "a chapter of battles for dignity and pride."

Let us also remember that the Sánchez government has been allowing hundreds of tributes to ETA terrorists every year, tributes that are a serious outrage to the victims of that murderous gang that is consistent with the infamous political positions of the Spanish socialists. The government's tolerance of these tributes is not accidental: the PSOE already supported the legalization of the crime of glorifying terrorism in 2018 and 2021, invoking "freedom of speech".

It is the same freedom that the government now denies to conservative organisations and politicians who defend their ideas through peaceful, legal and democratic means, simply because they contradict the ideological dogmas of the PSOE. Once again, socialism makes clear its ideological relationship with communism and fascism, ideologies with which socialists share a hatred for freedom.
