The visit of the Civil Guard to the B-52H 'Wise Guy' bomber on its deployment in Spain

A few weeks ago we saw here images of the deployment of four B-52H bombers at the Morón Air Base, in Spain.

The USAF publishes the images of the deployment of four B-52 bombers in Spain
The deafening experience of a B-52 bomber passing a few meters above you

Two days after the publication of that article, the Civil Guard visited one of those B-52Hs in Morón, specifically 60-0034 "Wise Guy", belonging to the 23rd Expeditionary Bomb Squadron of the 5th Bomb Wing, based at Minot AFB, North Dakota. For those who read this entry and are not Spanish, the Civil Guard is a gendarmerie corps in charge of small towns and also highways, where they ensure public safety and also traffic safety, among many other missions.

There is no record that the crew of the B-52H committed any excess speed or had to be reprimanded for doing strange maneuvers. This visit was courtesy, and the members of the Civil Guard were accompanied by personnel from the Army and the Air Force.

The multimedia portal DVIDS of the United States Armed Forces published photos from the visit on March 19, commenting: "Members of the 23rd Expeditionary Bomb Squadron provide members of the Spanish Civil Guard a tour of the B-52H Stratofortress. On the tour air crew demonstrated the capabilities of the aircraft and how its presence on the global theater is a symbol of deterrence at Morón Air Base, Spain."

What we see here is the bomb bay of the B-52H. I have to confess that I am very envious of the participants in this visit, the B-52H is already a legendary aircraft.

Here we see some of the participants of this visit under the port wing of the huge bomber. The B-52H has a wingspan of 56.4 meters and its fuselage is 48.5 meters long.

Here we see one of the crew of the B-52H, wearing an olive green flight suit, talking with a member of the Army and a civil guard.

And finally, a family photo as a souvenir of the visit. It must be said that the B-52H is a very famous aircraft and the Civil Guard is one of the most valued institutions in Spain, so two great legends have come together on this visit.
