Beijing's totalitarian regime has never had any dominance over Taiwan

In support of Taiwan, the free China, against the intolerable threats from communist China

The world's largest totalitarian regime, the Chinese communist dictatorship, seems bent on imitating the bullying of its ally Vladimir Putin.

The communist dictatorship of Beijing militarily besieges Taiwan

This Saturday, the official news agency of that communist dictatorship, Xinhua, published a delusional statement announcing a "combat readiness patrol and military exercises around the Taiwan Island", specifically "off the northern and southern coasts of the island, and to the island's east", from April 8 to 10. The note adds the following: "These operations serve as a stern warning against the collusion between separatist forces seeking "Taiwan independence" and external forces and against their provocative activities."

The illegitimate regime in China is the one in Beijing, not the one in Taipei

This nonsense of the Chinese communist dictatorship would be even comical if it were not for the fact that it were not an intolerable threat to a free, democratic and sovereign country such as the Republic of China, also known as Taiwan, which was one of the founding countries of the UN in 1945. The Republic of China was established in 1912.

In 1927, the Chinese Communist Party launched a military uprising to seize power in the country. In 1949 the civil war ended with the victory of the communists in mainland China, where they established a totalitarian regime that still continues, while the nationalists continued the Republic of China in the islands of Taiwan, Penghu, Quemoy, Matsu, Pratas and Taiping.

Today the Republic of China (Taiwan) is a multiparty democracy, in which there is political freedom and religious freedom, something that does not exist in communist China. Taiwan, free China, has been a sovereign country and has had its own army since 1949. If there is an illegitimate regime in China, it is the communist dictatorship that has its headquarters in Beijing, and not the democracy that has its headquarters in Taipei.

Taiwan has never been under the rule of that communist dictatorship

The terms used by the Beijing regime and its claims to Taiwan are as absurd and illegitimate as if communist Germany called the democrats of free Germany "separatists", during the time when that country It was divided into two halves. It must also be said that the communist regime in Beijing has never exercised any control over Taiwan. This island was under Japanese rule from 1895 to 1945, when Japan was defeated in World War II. The Japanese handed over the island to the Republic of China, four years before the end of the Chinese Civil War.

The serious responsibility of the UN in this situation

We must not forget that one of the main culprits for communist China continuing to threaten Taiwan is the UN, which expelled Taiwan in 1971 and admitted communist China . More than half a century has passed since that decision and the Beijing regime continues to violate the human rights that the UN theoretically defends, and communist China is not only not expelled from the organization, but is also a member permanent member of the UN Security Council.

The responsibility of the US and other democratic countries

For this unfair situation many democratic countries are also partly responsible, which have decided to maintain relations with communist China, for which the latter demands that they break them with Taiwan, a blackmail to which many countries have yielded turning its back on a democracy and embracing a totalitarian regime.

Among democratic countries, the main responsibility lies with its greatest power, the United States, which severed its official relationship with Taiwan over a shameful decision by Carter (one of the worst presidents of US history) in 1979, a decision that subsequent presidents have not reversed, despite which they maintain a mutual defense agreement with Taiwan.

It is time for the US to set an example to the free world and recover its old relationship with Taiwan, free China, acknowledging at the diplomatic level the link it already has at the defense level. To maintain the current situation is to allow the mafia regime of communist China to continue blackmailing the free world, demanding that it isolate a free and democratic country like Taiwan, with the aim of forcibly submitting it to the dictatorship from Peking.
