The Spanish ultra-leftist party Podemos is the worst positioned in the report

A report by a European NGO uncovers the new antisemitism of the far-left

Hatred of Jews has many ways of expressing itself, and one of the most widespread today is disguising it as "anti-Zionism".

The anti-Semitic stink of the Spanish left: a review of its lies and its double standards

'Anti-Zionism' as a disguise for antisemitism

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) points out several expressions of antisemitism that are very common today in our society, especially among the extreme left:

  • "Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor."
  • "Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis."
  • "Applying double standards by requiring of it a behavior not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation."

These forms of antisemitism are feeding other classic forms of Jew-hatred. After all, if Zionism is the defense of the right of the Jewish people to have their own State, anti-Zionism consists in denying that right to the Jews and only to them, since the so-called "anti-Zionists" never deny that same right, for example, to Muslims. The lies, attacks, defamation and slander systematically directed against Israel, such as those falsely accusing that country of imposing a racist regime or even perpetrating "genocide", have no other purpose than to support the denial of Israel's right to exist as a Nation.

The report published this week by a European Christian NGO

There is a European NGO based in Brussels called European Coalition for Israel (ECI), formed by Christian organizations (Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox and Evangelical; it is not, as stated today TheObjective , a "Jewish" lobby). The purpose of this NGO is to highlight "the important role of Europe with regard to the Jewish people and the existence of the State of Israel not only in the past but also today". This Tuesday, April 25, ECI presented a report in which it indexes of the European political parties in relation to Israel.

The report can be consulted and downloaded here. ECI classifies the European parties based on the number of times they have voted in favor of the State of Israel, establishing percentages ranging from 100% (those that most support Israel) to 0% (those most opposed to Israel). Significantly, the only Spanish party among the 10 European parties that most support Israel is Vox (96.18%), which occupies fifth place on the list. It's something I'm proud of as a Vox voter and as a person who appreciates the Jewish people and Israel.

The suspense of all the Spanish parties except Vox and PP

Likewise, most of the parties that most support Israel belong to the ECR (European Conservative and Reformist Group), which brings together Vox and other right-wing parties such as Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (PiS) , the ruling party in Poland (19th place), and Fratelli d'Italia (21st place), the party of the Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni. The best-placed party of those belonging to the European People's Party is the Swedish Moderaterna (24th place).

As for the other Spanish parties, and in addition to the aforementioned case of Vox, the Popular Party of Spain is in 54th place, with 63.7%. All other parties fail: Ciudadanos (44.45%), Junts (30.64%), PNV (22.96%), PSC (21.35%), PSOE (19.26%), ERC (18, 34%), Catalunya en Comú (15.78%), BNG (3.84%), Anticapitalists (0.79%), United Left (0.74%) and Podemos (0%).

The dismal result of the European ultra-left in that report

Precisely, in the ECI index, Podemos is the party most hostile to Israel of all the European parties analyzed, something that is not surprising if we take into account the links of its founder with the Islamist dictatorship of Iran, one of the most anti-Semitic regimes in the world, which has made Holocaust denial its official discourse, to the delight of all those nostalgic for Nazism. This is especially alarming if we take into account that Podemos is in the government of Spain, allied with the socialists of Pedro Sánchez.

Furthermore, of the 20 most anti-Israeli parties in the index, 17 belong to The Left group, which brings together communist and far-left parties in the European Parliament. It is the group to which Podemos belongs. To give us an idea, the more or less right-wing party worst ranked in the index is Latvijas Krievu Savienība (Russian Latvian Union), with 12.1%. Below him are 21 parties, of which 20 are extreme left and one is socialist.

The data in this report serve to uncover the new antisemitism that the extreme left is promoting in Europe, an anti-Semitism that focuses its hatred on the only Jewish state in the world, launching attacks against it that it does not, for For example, against any of the numerous Islamic regimes, nor against the communist dictatorships, despite their many violations of human rights.
