What weakens democracy is calling elections on a date that seems designed to encourage abstention, and also considering a milestone that 450,607 voters can remain without voting despite having requested it.

Coincidentally, July 23 is in the middle of a festive long weekend in four communities, as Tuesday, July 25 is a public holiday in Castilla y León, Galicia, Navarra and the Basque Autonomous Community. Also coincidentally, two of these communities are granaries of votes for the PP (Castilla y León and Galicia).
