The Spanish extreme left organizes a 'republican march' against King 'Felipe IV'

The left has been claiming the representation of culture and intellect for many years, but that should not include Roman numerals.

This Christmas Eve, an hour before it was broadcast the speech of King Felipe VI, a far-left Twitter account has announced the call for a march against the Monarchy. Curiously, among photos of the current King of Spain, on two of the posters it says "Felipe IV".

Philip IV was a King of Spain belonging to the Habsburg dynasty, born in 1605 and died in 1665. This monarch has been buried for more than 300 years in the Royal Crypt of the Monastery of El Escorial. It is worth wondering if the republican march will have that Monastery as its end point.

One of those who have spread this call against Felipe IV is the leader of Podemos Rafael Mayoral, in a Twitter post made half an hour before Felipe VI's speech. Hundreds of people have responded to the far-left politician to mock him.

It just so happens that last year, the coalition government of socialists and communists, of which Podemos was a part, defended eliminating Roman numerals from Primary Mathematics, one more measure that contributes to degrading the quality of the Spanish educational system. However, due to his age, this change does not affect Rafael Mayoral or the organizers of that march. Let's see what excuse they give to make these mistakes with Roman numerals.

For the rest, it is worth wondering if the next marches called by the far-left will be to request the suppression of galleys in the Spanish Navy, the elimination of the Tercios Viejos as infantry units, a Statute of Autonomy for the Viceroyalty of New Spain or the deposition of the Count-Duke of Olivares as the King's valid.
