Islamists and the extreme left are allied in their hatred of the West

This infamous wave of anti-Semitism is just the beginning: Jews are the canary in the mine

During the 19th and 20th centuries, it was common to take cages with birds, especially canaries, to coal mines to detect firedamp.

The role of two extremist and violent movements in anti-Semitic protests
Spanish universities did not condemn the Hamas attack and now demand that Israeli universities express a 'commitment to peace'

Canaries are very sensitive to toxic gases and when one perceived it, it was a clear signal for the miners to evacuate the place due to a possible risk of explosion or death due to poisoning from that gas. That is why in popular culture the expression "the canary in the mine" is frequently used to refer to those events that should alert us against some risk.

A wave of anti-Semitism unprecedented since the Third Reich

Today, after the largest massacre suffered by the Jewish people after the Holocaust, a massacre perpetrated on October 7, 2023 by Hamas terrorists, The West is experiencing a wave of anti-Semitism without unprecedented since the Third Reich. Jewish students are suffering acts of harassment in universities and yesterday a mob of Islamists and leftists carried out an anti-Semitic march in Malmö, Sweden, against the Israeli singer Eden Golan, calling for her exclusion from the Eurovision Song Contest. During that march, an Israeli reporter was attacked and required to prove that he was not Jewish.

It just so happens that October 7, 2023, a large part of Malmö's Muslim community took to the streets to celebrate the Hamas terrorist attack in which more than 1,500 people were killed (including children and babies), more than 250 people were kidnapped and many women were raped.

The new 'blood libels' that encourage this wave of anti-Semitism

This wave of anti-Semitism has been fueled, to a large extent, by politicians and the media who have given credence to Hamas' hoaxes to demonize Israel, accepting the false death tolls spread by that terrorist organization, figures that serve to feed the colossal lie that Israel is committing a "genocide" in Gaza. It is a reissue of the old "blood libels" that fueled the lynchings and murders of Jews in various places in Europe since the Middle Ages.

Today the Jews are the canary in the mine

On this occasion, the Islamists and the extreme left have taken over from the Nazi brownshirts in their campaign of hate against the Jewish people and against the only Jewish State in the world: Israel. These are the same sectors that have not protested against Russian war crimes in Ukraine and that have even blamed the United States and NATO for the invasion ordered by Vladimir Putin. It is not a mere coincidence: the propaganda media that supported that invasion are now encouraging this wave of anti-Semitism, demonizing the people of Israel for not allowing themselves to be murdered without exercising their right to defend themselves.

As has happened other times, today the Jews are the canary in the mine. The infamous persecution they are suffering at the hands of Islamists and ultra-leftists will not stop with them. This wave of anti-Semitism is just the beginning: then these fanatics will go after all those who oppose their wishes. Islamists and the extreme left are enemies of Freedom who are allied by their common hatred of the West and Judeo-Christian culture. Then they will come for the Christians and for all those who resist the Islamization of Europe.

What is at stake is our democracy

When the time comes, the Islamists will have no qualms about getting rid of the useful fools of the extreme left who support them, starting with the feminists and homosexuals (just look at the treatment that women and gays receive in many Muslim countries).

We must confront this infamous wave of anti-Semitism not only because it is a moral duty of every democratic society, especially after the enormous genocide that was fueled in the 20th century by this hatred against the Jews. Furthermore, the defense of the Jewish community and the State of Israel is an important line of defense for democracy and the West against those who hate our civilization and seek to reduce it to rubble.

Faced with this threat, what is at stake is our democracy. This is not just a problem for the Jews, and those who believe it is will only be repeating the worst of history: if When they come for the Jews you do nothing because you are not Jewish, when they come for you there may be no one left to defend you.
