Scenes of Allied soldiers liberating nazi death camps in World War II seemed like something that could never be repeated.
"This is not a war, it is not a battlefield, it is a massacre"
However, the horror those soldiers saw is very similar to what Israeli soldiers encountered when they arrived at Kibbutz Kfar Aza, a farming community near the border with Gaza. On Saturday, 70 Hamas terrorists attacked this community, murdering entire families. Many of those killed were riddled with bullets while they were in their bedrooms. Major General Itai Veruv has declared: "This is not a war, it is not a battlefield, it is a massacre."
About 40 babies and little children were murdered, some of them decapitated
The Israeli media i24news.tv has traveled to the area and points out the following: "Some soldiers say they found babies with their heads cut off, entire families gunned down in their beds. About 40 babies and young children have been taken out on gurneys — so far." The Israel Defense Forces are still They do not have a count of the people who were killed by Hamas terrorists in that place. Many houses were burned by the terrorists to force the families who were taking refuge in them to leave.
While his soldiers console each other, after having witnessed scenes of indescribable horror, Major General Itai Veruv comments to the media: "It is something that I never saw in my life. It's something that we used to imagine from our grandfathers, grandmothers in the pogrom in Europe and other places. It's not something that happens in new history."
Terrorists left traps to cause more deaths
In addition to massacring the families of the kibbutz, the terrorists left traps behind them to murder possible survivors and those who came to rescue them: "It was still a challenge for the soldiers to check each and every house, because of the numerous booby traps. The press were even advised to stay away from some areas that were not yet cleared of explosives," notes i24news.tv.
Sadly, history is repeating itself.
Today I have not been able to finish eating after reading this information that I am transmitting to you. Let me add a final note. Some of us spent years remembering what happened in the Holocaust so that history would not repeat itself. Now, sadly, we see that history repeats itself, with the same victims as then and because of the same anti-Semitic hatred, with purely demonic atrocities that are very reminiscent of those committed by the nazis. And not only do we see that, but we also see people justifying these crimes with the most vile and stupid statements. I think that we have been too tolerant with those who continue to spread that criminal hatred, a hatred that kills, a hatred that in Spain is spread from the government itself, something that as Spanish provokes a mixture of disgust and shame in me. I make my own these words that Garry Kasparov published last night:
"If thoughts, prayers, and condemnation prevented terror attacks and dictators waging war we'd be living in a paradise. But they don't. They must actually be fought like hell, as if our civilization depends on it, because it does. Stop normalizing evil. Stop making deals with thugs who kill as soon as they detect any weakness. Iran and Russia are trying to destroy the modern world order that they see as a threat to their dictatorships. When there is no overwhelming response, others follow suit."
