The Popular Party has rejected the illegalization of Bildu on three occasions

The PP finally recognizes what Bildu is: now be coherent and support what Vox demanded

The alliance between the socialists and sympathizers of the terrorist group ETA is generating understandable controversy in Spain.

The 27 murders of ETA in Pamplona: Bildu does not condemn them and Sánchez gives it the city
The Pedro Sánchez's debt to a party that has 44 terrorists as candidates

Massive protest in Pamplona against the pact between the PSOE and Bildu

A few days ago we learned the news that Sánchez will give the mayor of Pamplona to the pro-ETA members, that is, to those who do not condemn the 853 murders of ETA, including the murders of 22 children and babies. Of those 853 murders, 27 were perpetrated in Pamplona, which has caused great indignation in the capital of Navarra. Yesterday, thousands of people protested in the streets of Pamplona against this infamy, a protest supported by the political parties UPN, PP and Vox.

Feijóo refers to Bildu as “a party that has murdered my colleagues”

The president of the Popular Party attended that demonstration. Alberto Núñez Feijóo declared: "I would be incapable of giving the mayoralty to a party that has murdered my colleagues. I deeply regret the indignity of the PSOE towards the Navarrese people." Thus, Feijóo identifies Bildu with ETA, something in which he is right, taking into account that Bildu not only refuses to condemn the murders committed by that criminal gang, but also in the last local and regional elections, Bildu included 44 people convicted of terrorism in its candidacies.

The PP has rejected the illegalization of Bildu on three occasions

The sad thing is that this PP statement comes eleven years late. In 2012 the PP voted against a parliamentary initiative by UPyD to outlaw Bildu, accusing the authors of that initiative of "demagogy and opportunism." In 2020, the PP did not want to support another request to outlaw Bildu, this time presented by Vox. And since there are no two without three, in May 2023, days after a new request from Vox to illegalize Bildu, the PP stated that this was not possible.

“We accept with democratic naturalness that Bildu is in the institutions”

In this last case, Feijóo's party was not satisfied with rejecting Vox's request. The Popular Party campaign spokesperson, Borja Sémper, stated: "we accept with democratic naturalness that Bildu is in the institutions". The most astonishing thing is that in those same statements, Sémper classified Bildu among the "political formations that believe that murder was good". Is it "democratic naturalness" that there are parties that consider terrorism legitimate?

The PP should be coherent and support what Vox demanded

Bildu is a political aberration that should never have been tolerated: it was at the hands of a Constitutional Court controlled by the PSOE, another of the rotten fruits of the politicization of Justice promoted by the PSOE and the PP during years. It is very good that the PP now recognizes the obvious about Bildu, but we must remember that Bildu has not changed. It is still the same garbage that it was in 2012, in 2020 and a few months ago, when the PP rejected its illegalization.

If the PP truly believes that Bildu is ETA, there is no time to waste: be coherent and agree with Vox to support an initiative like the one Vox presented in May, when the PP said no it was possible to outlaw Bildu. Because what is very clear is that illegalizing a party that justifies terrorism is not only possible, but also necessary, because a democracy cannot allow those who protect crime to sneak into democratic institutions, to corrupt democracy itself and destroy it from within.
