The Ukrainians stood up to the Russian soldiers and pushed them back

A scene that shows the Ukrainian courage: they sing their anthem in front of the Russian shots

Today marks one month since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which has unleashed a war in which the Ukrainian people arouse admiration beyond its borders.

The heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people against Russian aggression is reflected in episodes such as the one in a video that is very reminiscent of the famous scene of the man in front of the tanks in Tiananmen Square. In this case there was not a man, but a few (a woman is also seen in the video), and in front of them were several Russian soldiers, firing their weapons in the air very close to their heads. Anywhere else, faced with such an act of violence, unarmed civilians would flee. Not in Ukraine.

Far from backing down, the Ukrainians stood up to the Russians and began to sing their National Anthem. Near the end of the scene, one of the Ukrainians sprayed a Russian soldier with spray, driving him and his companions back. The video was published yesterday by a Ukrainian Tiktok channel and has gone viral on other social networks in the last few hours.

The lyrics of the first verse and the chorus of the Ukrainian anthem, which are the ones sung by the Ukrainians in the scene like the one we just saw, are as follows:

"The glory and freedom of Ukraine have not yet died,
Even to us, fellow countrymen, fortune will smile on us.
Our enemies will vanish like dew in the sun.
We will rule, brothers, in our own land.

The soul and the body we will sacrifice for our freedom,
And we will show that we, brothers, are from the Cossack nation."

From Spain, all my admiration and support for the Ukrainian people, who bravely face a purely criminal invasion by Russia.

Слава Україні!
Glory to Ukraine!
