The PP excludes Vox from the Congress Table: the fable of the scorpion and the frog again

A few weeks ago I spoke to you here about the fable of the scorpion and the frog, a story about trust and evil.

Two examples of the oratory of Pepa Millán, the new spokesperson of Vox in the Congress
The fable of the bigmouth scorpion that told the frog that it would kill it crossing the river

In this story, a scorpion asks a frog to help it cross a river, since the arthropod does not know how to swim. She shows her reluctance, as she knows the nature of the scorpion, and refuses, claiming that the scorpion will sting her and kill her. The scorpion tries to dissuade the frog and in the end convinces it by saying that it would be absurd for him to kill her, since they would both drown in the river. The frog agrees to cross the river with the scorpion, he sticks his poisonous sting. The frog asks him why, since they will both drown, and the scorpion justifies himself by telling him that it is in her nature to do that , that she knows no other way to act.

For the first time the third most voted party is left out of the Table

Ten days ago, Vox offered the PP its support for the investiture of Feijóo, support without conditions and in exchange for nothing in order to "avoid a government of national destruction". This generosity of Vox has been responded by the PP with a new affront. This morning, before the constitution of the Board of the Congress of Deputies, the PP has informed Vox that it would leave them out of the Table, where during the last legislature Vox had a vice presidency, in the hands of Ignacio Gil Lázaro. Faced with this new betrayal by the PP, both parties have voted exclusively for their respective candidates.

In this way, the PP will have four seats on the Table, the PSOE three and Sumar two. It is the first time that the third party with the most votes has been left out of the Congressional Table in all the years that we have had democracy in Spain. The paradox arises that the fourth party, Sumar, will have two positions, and the third, Vox, will have none.

In Vox they are "perplexed" and leave their support for the investiture of Feijóo up in the air

In a press conference (you can see the video here), the president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has commented on Vox's exclusion from the Table, stating that "we are somewhat perplexed", questioning whether leaving Spain's third political force out of the Table "is to recover democratic normality and the neutrality of the institutions". Abascal criticized the PP's decision: "they have made a historic decision in Spain: never has a political force like Vox, with 33 seats, been off the table of Congress."

Likewise, the leader of Vox has left Vox's announced support for the investiture of Feijóo on air, waiting to receive explanations from the Popular Party for its decision to exclude Vox from the Board of the Congress.

A clumsy and absurd decision of the PP

The PP's decision to leave Vox off the Congress table is especially incomprehensible if we take into account that Feijóo needs Vox's support for the investiture . The PP has not made even the slightest effort to capture that support. On the contrary, the PP offered the PNV separatists a position on the Congress Table, in order to obtain the support of his five deputies for the investiture of Feijóo. The message that the PP seems to convey is that it considers the 275,000 votes of the PNV more valuable than the 3 million votes of Vox.

What happened this morning is yet another example of the PP acting like a scorpion in Spanish politics, irrationally harming the only ones willing to offer their support, even if the result is also harming the chances of governing for the PP own. Perhaps Feijóo's party is excessively confident that his media will manipulate the scene to always present Vox as the culprit, and he believes that this will be the only message that will reach his voters and Vox voters .

The obvious problem for the PP is that there are still media outlets in Spain that do not follow the slogans of that party. For this reason, today the PP maneuver has been exposed as yet another example of determination to divide the opposition to the left, at a time when the unity of action of the PP and Vox were very necessary to stop the new alliance between the socialists, the separatists and the extreme left. Sadly, it seems that the PP continues to believe that its greatest enemy is Vox, and not the left or the separatists. An idea from which the enemies of Spain and Liberty benefit.
