The communist fanaticism of Minister Sira Rego and the response that a Vox professor gave her

Today the socialist Pedro Sánchez has announced his new government, the result of the pact with Puigdemont to liquidate the separation of powers.

A communist minister who supports and defends the Cuban dictatorship

The Sumar communist coalition will have five ministers, including Sira Rego, who will be Minister of Youth and Children. One wonders what kind of example the new minister will be for children and young people. Rego is a member of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) and until now she was a MEP for Izquierda Unida. The communist fanaticism of the new minister has led her to assume aberrant positions in Brussels.

In February 2022, together with fellow IU MEP Manu Pineda, Rego made a propaganda visit to Cuba to whitewash the communist dictatorship. During that visit, the IU MEP took a smiling photo with the dictator Miguel Díaz-Canel in a tweet in which he stated that "in Cuba they work from a deep feeling of love for humanity", an obscene reference to defend a criminal regime that persecutes and tortures who ask for democracyon that island.

He refused to support European condemnation of the Russian invasion of Ukraine

On March 1, 2022, Rego refused to support European condemnation of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. That same day, Rego justified his refusal to support that resolution by his rejection of send military aid to Ukraine to help it defend itself from Russian aggression. Let us remember that according to a study by the NGO VoteWatch Europe, Izquierda Unida is the most pro-Russian of the Spanish parties in the European Parliament (the study examined the votes of the different parties since 2019, when Rego was elected).

Voted against European condemnation of Hamas terrorist attack on Israel

A month ago, on October 19, 2023, Rego voted against the European condemnation of the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, a resolution that had 500 votes in favor and only 21 against. The Times of Israel denounced today that Rego defended the Hamas attack on October 7, the same day of the massacre, publishing an infamous message in which he said that "Palestine has the right to resist after decades of occupation, apartheid and exile". Rego has not condemned the murders of unarmed civilians, including children, at the hands of Hamas, nor the rape of women by these Palestinian terrorists, nor the kidnapping of more than 200 civilians (including children and babies ) by that criminal gang. Quite a resume for a Minister of Children.

His defense of the brutal dictator Lenin and Contreras's response

In May 2019, during the European election campaign, we saw here the intervention of Sira Rego in a debate with Francisco José Contreras, Vox candidate. During the debate, Contreras described Lenin as "one of the great genocidaires of the 20th century,", rightly so. Let us remember that In just six years, Lenin's dictatorship murdered more than a million people for political reasons, creating the first major network of concentration camps in history, the Gulag, and a brutal political police, the Cheka, who used the most savage methods of torture.

In his response, Rego told Contreras: "what you are expressing is that you are an extreme right person" and told him that "he has read very little about universal history." Furthermore, Rego recommended that Contreras learn about Lenin with a book by the communist John Reed, one of the founders of the US Communist Party and the Communist International. The book was a pamphlet praising the dictator, to such an extent that Lenin himself prefaced an edition published in 1922.

Rego is a nutritionist, while Contreras is a Professor of Philosophy of Law and had already been the author of a dozen books (one of them in English, the others in Spanish), in which he exhibited his extensive knowledge about history. In addition to Spanish, he speaks German, French, English and Italian. Contreras' response made Rego look ridiculous (the video is in Spanish, you can activate the automatic English subtitles in the bottom bar of the player):

Today The Objective took this video and cropped it to eliminate the Contando Estrelas logo, in addition to suppressing Contreras' response to the communist candidate.
