Sometimes we tend to spend too much time and attention on bad people, but here, among us, there are real angels.
In Counting Stars I have been talking about one of those Angels for several years now: Jordi Sabaté Pons, a patient with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a disease of the nervous system that currently has no cure and that causes progressive paralysis in the patient. One of his most famous patients was the scientist Stephen Hawking. Like him, Jordi can only speak through a computer, and he also communicates with his eyes, which is the tool with which he uses that computer.
As I have told you on several occasions, Jordi has been asking for help for ALS patients for years and denouncing that they are being pushed to euthanasia and specifically pointing out the socialist Pedro Sánchez, who was in a hurry to approve a euthanasia law and then blocked the ELA law approved unanimously in Congress in the last legislature, a law designed to help ALS patients.
Last night, we found out that Jordi has become friends with the famous Spanish actress Penélope Cruz, who attended the program "El Hormiguero" on the Antena 3 channel. Penelope has asked for help to raise funds for ALS research, asking viewers to click this link and send their donations to the Vall d'Hebron Hospital:
Jordi has shared on Twitter the affectionate words that Penélope Cruz dedicated to him on that program, and also the words that Jordi sent to greet the viewers of that channel. As he usually does, Jordi finished his message with a "¡Viva la Vida! (Long live life!), since despite his situation, he is a happy man who feels great joy in live. That exclamation moved Penelope so much that tears came to her eyes:
TE QUIERO Penélope Cruz ❤️

Going back to the beginning, I have been convinced for years that among us there are true angels, and Jordi is one of them. He is one of those angels of flesh and blood that God puts in our path to remind us how fortunate we are to enjoy this precious gift that He has given us, which is life. We often get sad because of all kinds of stupid things. That "Long live life!" by Jordi is not only a hymn to the culture of life, but also a reminder of the deep luck we have for being alive and for having many little things that we sometimes only give importance to until we lose them.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Jordi, for existing. A big hug.
