In some cases, the left has refused to condemn these genocides

The genocides that the left-wing does not protest while slandering Israel

The false accusations of "genocide" against Israel to cover up Hamas' crimes have another equally perverse effect.

Who has committed crimes of genocide, Israel or Hamas? What the facts indicate
Spanish Parliament refuses to condemn the crimes of Nazism and Communism

This effect is the trivialization of authentic genocides, starting with the Holocaust, equating them with the mere existence of civilian casualties in a war (which has also been provoked by Hamas terrorists, something that is not we must forget), in a crude attempt to equate Jews with Nazis, that is, victims and executioners, for the benefit of the latter. It is a form of anti-Semitism that is already very old and that has now been taken over by Islamism and the extreme left.

The Spanish left does not condemn communist crimes

Another effect of this slanderous accusation against Israel is the concealment of the authentic genocides that have occurred in the last century and that continue to exist today, genocides against which the Western left does not protest, while dedicated to demonizing the State of Israel and launching false accusations against it. In addition to the Holocaust, which murdered 6 million Jews and 2.5 million ethnic Poles, among other groups of victims, we must also remember the more than 100 million deaths hands of communism, with figures as horrifying as those of China, where this totalitarian ideology is responsible for the death of up to 82 million people.

Three years ago, in the Congress of Deputies, the same anti-Semitic left that today slanders Israel voted against the European condemnation of the crimes of communism and Nazism, a sentence that recalled the crimes of genocide perpetrated by both totalitarian ideologies "on a scale hitherto never seen in the history of humanity." During the debate on that sentence, the socialists and their partners of The extreme left openly praised communism, calling known communist criminals "freedom fighters." They are the same cynics who today make false accusations against Israel.

The genocide suffered by Armenian Christians

Likewise, between 1915 and 1923 the Ottoman Empire and Turkey perpetrated the Armenian genocide, with 2 million Armenian Christians murdered in that Muslim-majority country. In the European Union only Germany, France and Italy have recognized this genocide, which also has been denounced by the Vatican. The Spanish left has done nothing to denounce it.

The genocide against Christians in Nigeria

On the other hand, and although many media barely report it, today crimes of genocide are being perpetrated in several countries. The UN, which exhibits a blatant bias against Israel, does not seem very concerned about it. The genocides that I am going to point out below correspond to the qualification indicated by the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, that is, acts perpetrated with the intention to totally or partially destroy a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, something that does not occur in Gaza, where Israel tries to minimize civilian casualties with measures to evacuate the population that no other army has bothered to take in all of history.

For years I have been denouncing one of the clearest genocides: the one that Christians in Nigeria are suffering at the hands of Islamists. In December I pointed out here that there are already more than 52,000 Christians murdered by Islamists in the last 14 years. The left not only does not protest against this genocide but also tries to silence it. In May 2022, the left knocked down a debate in the European Parliament on the persecution of Christians which referred to Nigeria. In June 2022, at the Madrid Assembly, the left shot down a statement condemning a massacre against 40 Catholics in Owo, Nigeria, a statement proposed by Vox.

Accusations of genocide against Russia for the invasion of Ukraine

On the other hand, Poland, Lithuania and Estonia have accused Russia of committing crimes of genocide in Ukraine, a country where Russian invaders are carrying out indiscriminate attacks against the civilian populationand have carried out massacres against unarmed civilians, with victims including men, women and children. The far left has not held a single protest demonstration against these crimes. In fact, many far-left organizations openly align themselves with Kremlin propaganda.

The Rwandan genocide

Another of the most famous genocides of the 20th century was the Rwandan genocide of 1994, in which between 500,000 and 800,000 Tutsis were murdered by members of the Hutu ethnic group. Many of the murders were committed with machetes. The response to this genocide took place between 1996 and 1997, when about 200,000 Hutus were massacred in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo) by forces supported by the new government of Rwanda in the so-called First Congo War. Between 1998 and 2003, in the Second Congo War, 60,000 members of the pygmy peoples were murdered, with many of the victims also being cannibalized by both sides.

The Darfur genocide in Sudan

Without leaving Africa, in 2003 the so-called Darfur genocide began, in which according to various estimates between 200,000 and 300,000 Christians and animists have been murdered by the Islamist government of Sudan strong>. Likewise, in neighboring Ethiopia, forces from the governments of Ethiopia and Eritrea have been accused of murder of between 385,000 and 600,000 in the Tigray region between 2020 and 2022, in one of the deadliest wars of the 21st century. Some deaths to which we must add massive rapes of women.

The genocide crimes of ISIS terrorists

Moving on to Asia, ISIS terrorists have committed crimes of genocide in Iraq and Syria, with thousands of Yazidis murdered in Iraq (and thousands more, in addition, subjected to the condition of slavery, in addition to mass rapes of women and girls). Many Christians were also murdered by these terrorists, who turned the areas under their control into hell. In 2016 the European Parliament condemned the crimes of genocide perpetrated by ISIS, but the extreme left distanced itself from that condemnation. The same extreme left that now slanders Israel.

The Yemen genocide

Further south, the Civil War in Yemen, which began in 2014, had killed about 377,000 people in 2021, 150,000 of them through violent deaths. The total death toll would include 85,000 children died from starvation. It so happens that in this war, Houthi terrorists, supported by Iran, have also dedicated themselves to launching attacks against Israel and against ships from several countries sailing through the Red Sea. In December, the Spanish left opposed participating in an international coalition to stop this threat.

The genocides of Burma and communist China

Further east, Burma's military dictatorship is carrying out genocide against the Rohingya people, causing an exodus of hundreds of thousands of people. Maybe this is barely talked about in the West because this dictatorship is supported by communist China, a totalitarian regime that, in turn, is today perpetrating a genocide against the Uyghur people , in the Xinjiang region, in the northwest of the country. About this, the left does not speak for the communist ideology of that dictatorship, with which Spanish socialists and communists maintain cordial relations.

The Tamil genocide in Sri Lanka

Finally, the government of Sri Lanka, of the Sinhalese majority and of the Buddhist religion, has also been accused of committing a genocide against the Tamil minority, of the Hindu religion, during the civil war that devastated that country between 1983 and 2009. The UN estimated that this war caused between 80,000 and 100,000 deaths in a country that today has 22 million inhabitants. The European left has not shown interest in the issue perhaps because it has not found a way to blame Israel.
