The left-wing asks for 'freedom' to support terrorists without criticism

The abysmal difference between the freedom of Itziar Ituño and the freedom of Rocío de Meer

The Spanish left has become an ideological cocktail that combines Hispanophobia, hatred of freedom and sympathy with terrorists.

The left-wing and its curious idea of freedom of speech

The idea of freedom of expression that arises from this ideological cocktail is as aberrant as the left's own ideological dogmas. In 2022 I already put an example here: the same socialists and communists who penalize praying in front of an abortion clinic, describing the mere fact of praying as a crime of coercion, they have defended the decriminalization of the crime of glorifying terrorism, affirming that glorifying murderers like those of ETA is "freedom of expression". The explanation for this nonsense is, simply, that ETA is an extreme left-wing criminal gang and those who pray in front of abortion clinics do not have those ideological coordinates.

Criticism of an actress for attending a march in support of ETA prisoners

There are two examples of women who can well portray the degree of absurdity to which the left has reached. Recently, actress Itziar Ituño attended a demonstration in support of ETA prisoners and has received a lot of criticism for them. As a consequence of her support Due to this demonstration, BMW Lurauto and Iberia have canceled the advertising contracts they had with that actress. Given these reactions, dozens of actors and actresses have signed a manifesto in support of Ortuño. On social networks, people on the left have joined in with these messages of support for the actress, as if she had been the victim of an attack.

So, if an actress publicly supports a demonstration in favor of terrorists and the rest of us criticize her for it, apparently the actress is the one who has freedom of expression but the rest of us do not have the freedom to blame her, not even to remember that the terrorists supported by that demonstration murdered 853 people, including 22 children and babies. Many of the victims were murdered for the mere fact of being Spanish citizens or even for having ideas opposed to those of ETA. Where was the freedom of speech of those 853 people?

The response of the left-wing to the attack on a Vox deputy

But to make clear the curious idea of freedom of expression that the left has, let us remember that in June 2020 far-left thugs injured Rocío de Meer, Vox deputy, with a stone. Her "crime" was attending a public Vox event in Sestao (Vizcaya). That is to say, Rocío was attacked with a stone for exercising her freedom of expression. They were not legitimate criticisms: it was an attempt to cause her physical harm that could have caused her death, since the stone hit her. Rocío's forehead, causing a wound.

What were the reactions to that attack? The left remained silent, as it has done with all the attacks suffered by members of Vox, a violence that the left itself has constantly encouraged and systematic. In turn, Bildu, a pro-ETA party, the same ones who demonstrated in favor of ETA prisoners a few days ago, they justified the attack by stating that Vox had gone to "provoke", the typical argument of rapists who accuse their victims of wearing miniskirts. In turn, the Podemos communists called the attack a "hoax", even though it happened before a multitude of witnesses.

A mixture of intolerance, sectarianism and hatred

That is the idea that the left has of freedom of speech. If you are on the left you can invoke that freedom to support terrorists, but if you are on the right, that same left justifies throwing a stone at you for disagreeing, or it remains silent and does not condemn it. What the left does is not only display its intolerance and atrocious sectarianism, but also its hatred. They hate freedom so much that they are willing to justify stoning you if you disagree with them, and then they invoke freedom of speech to deny the rest of us the right to criticize something as miserable as supporting a march for ETA prisoners. The left-wing is going to have to eat its hatred of freedom, because what the rest of us are not going to do is remain silent neither for fear of their stones nor for fear of their attempts at censorship.
